Know when outages are planned

To upgrade and maintain the network we sometimes need to switch the power off so our crews can work safely. 

You can sign up for outage notifications and we’ll then let you know when a power outage is planned by email and text. 

Signing up is easy and will take just a minute or two. If you are already a user of Orion Online services, login and then from the online services page click "Outage notifications" and follow the prompts to sign up. 

If you are new to online services you’ll need to provide us with a few personal details to set up your account, an email address, address, and a password and then you can go into "Outage notifications" and follow the prompts to set up your notifications.

What messages will I receive?

By signing up for outage notifications with Orion you can expect the following messages. Please note this is in addition to any notifications you may receive from your electricity retailer. 

Planned outages 

• An email notification where possible 10 working days prior to the planned outage.
• An sms/text reminder the day before the outage.
• An sms/text to let you know the power is back on - once power has been restored.

We'll also update you about planned outages if: 

• We need to move the outage to an alternate day.
• If we've come across unexpected circumstances and the time the power is going back on is delayed.
• If the outage is cancelled.
